British Pteridological Society and Wild Flower Society Joint meeting
Meet at 10.30 in the car park on Windermere Road in Grange-over-Sands, SD411783. Please bring a packed lunch and drinks for the day. Boots or stout shoes recommended, plus usual outdoor gear.
We will walk through Eggerslack Woods, where there is a good range of woodland ferns. Beech Fern Phegopteris connectilis and Lemon-scented Fern Oreopteris limbosperma have also been recorded here. Higher up we will be on limestone pavement, with a nice range of limestone ferns. Our way back is down through the wood again – a chance to revise the woodland ferns. Some parts of the path are steep, so walking poles will help, but not essential.
