Meet at 10:30 at Staple Hill Plantations car park near Buckland St Mary TA20 3AR, Grid Ref. ST246159, what3words: reckons.splint.brisk. Free parking but with 2m height barrier.

We will walk from the car park to explore the woodland, mires and grassland of the Blackdown Hills.

The path may be steep in parts, especially on the return climb to the car park.

Expect to see a wide range of sedges, such as Star Sedge Carex echinata, Oval Sedge C leporina and Common Yellow-sedge C. demissa. We may also find Bristle Club-rush Isolepis setacea, Bogbean Menyanthes trifoliata together with a range of acid-loving plants.

Sunday 28th July: Taunton

Meet at 10:30 at Silk Mills Park and Ride, free parking, near Bishop’s Hull Taunton, TA1 5AA, Grid Ref. ST206254, what3words: slap.sugars.bright. Toilets are sometimes available at the bus station

From the car park we will walk slowly in to Taunton to search for uncommon aliens of the town.

There are a range of interesting non-native plants, together with uncommon native plants such as Wall Bedstraw Galium parisienese.
