Meet for a 10:30 start at the Crosby Leisure Centre, Mariner Road, Crosby, L23 6SX; Grid Ref: SJ307989; what3words: ///weds.camp.seated. Parking at the Leisure Centre is free. Toilets in Leisure Centre. Carry packed lunch.

We will spend the day exploring the dunes where, as well as a range of dune plants and well-established garden escapes, we should see Isle-of-Man Cabbage Coincya monensis ssp. monensis, the maritime sub-species of Field Wormwood Artemisia campestris ssp. maritima, at its only remaining site in the UK and the Sea Holly Broomrape Orobanche minor ssp. minor var. pseudoamethystea. For a change from plants, Antony Gormley’s Iron Men looking out to sea, are nearby.
