The station CP is officially for rail users, but it is large, free and pretty empty on a Saturday. Instead of coming by car, members may wish to travel by train. There are toilets and a cafe at the station and shops nearby. Carry packed lunch.
A meeting to look at the aquatic and marginal plants growing along the Leeds and Liverpool Canal, as well as urban and arable species. There will be some road walking to begin with, to Melling Church, and then onto the footpath system, linking with the towpath.
