Friday 22nd July: Burham Downs

Leader: Priscilla Nobbs

Meet at 10:30 at Village Hall Car Park, Rochester Way, Burham, opposite Burham Bakers. (Postcode (nearby) ME1 3RS; OS Map 188 TQ730620). There is a toilet at the nearby garage/shop (please buy something!).

Chalk flora, Ground-Pine Ajuga chamaepitys, Basil Thyme Clinopidium acinos, Juniper Juniper communis, Broad-leaved Helleborine Epipactis helleborine.

Marsh plants, Marsh-mallow Althaea officinalis, Marsh Sow-thistle Sonchus palustris.

Steep hills, marshes may be wet.

Saturday 23rd July: Angley Wood, Cranbrook, Kent

Leader: Stephen Lemon

Meet at 10:30 roadside parking along Sheafe Drive where space permits TQ7706 3629, alternative roadside parking along adjacent section of Angley Road, TQ7698 3620 or nearby Wheatfield Way. Meet up and enter the wood at the entrance onto Angley Road, TQ 7686 3595.

High Weald woodland. Hay-scented Buckler-fern Dryopteris aemula, Lemon-scented Fern Oreopteris limbosperma, Marsh Fern Thelypteris palustris.

Chestnut coppice woodland, also with heath, bogs and a small relic fen.

Good paths but may be hilly and wet if you want to see all habitats.
