Meet for a 10.30 start in the car park next to the Leighton Observatory on Mill Lane, Cronton. Turn into Mill Lane at its southern end on Cronton Lane, opposite Cronton Sixth Form College, Cronton, WA8 5WA; Grid Ref: SJ50378834; ///what3words: moss.polar.abundance. It is a narrow entrance, easily missed. Drive 0.5 miles up Mill Lane to a parking area on the left-hand side of the road, in front of the Observatory at Grid Ref. SJ501888. Do not try to use satnav with the postcode of the observatory, it may try to take you down an old road from the north which isn’t open to traffic. A walk through the country park and surrounding areas to see what is still flowering.
