This meeting will explore a range of habitats found in Exmoor, Somerset VC5
Saturday 25th July: Bossington
Meet at 10:30 at National Trust car park in Bossington, Grid Ref: SS897480.
Visiting Bossington Beach and Hurlstone Point, a well recorded area with interesting non-native plants and some rare native species. Expect to see Yellow Horned-poppy Glaucium flavum, Wild Leek Allium ampeloprasum, White Mullein Verbascum lychnitis (white form) and some arable species.
Sunday 26th July: Whitstone Post Exmoor
Meet at 10:30 at Whitstone Post free car park at Grid Ref: SS856462
Typical Exmoor heathland and mires, search for Chamomile Chamaemelum nobile, Cornish Moneywort Sibthorpia europaea and Ivy-leaved Bellflower Wahlenbergia hederacea and a range of sedges.
Members staying in the area are also invited to join the Somerset Rare Plants Group to monitor Lesser Twayblade Neottia cordata on Dunkery Beacon and other Exmoor locations (details on request)
