This is a three day “Come and Find” meeting. Good idea to bring your binoculars as well as your lens – there should be interesting birds about as well as flowers.


Thursday 30th June: Beccles Marshes, Suffolk.  Long morning, lunch.  (Explore Beccles)

Meet 10.30 Beccles Quayside Car Park (£2.80 for 5 hours), Fen Lane, TG 423 912, Toilets

Morning walk beside River Waveney (Angles Way). Lunch. People may like to explore Beccles after lunch.

May be wet – Marsh plants including Water-soldier Stratiotes aloides


Friday 1st July: Wheatfen, Surlingham, Norfolk  

Meet at 10:00 at Car Park TG 325 057,  NR14 7AL, Suggest £5 donation per person.  Toilets

10.00 Refreshments, 10.30 Warden (Will Fitch) will give an Illustrated Talk.

May be wet – Marsh plants including Marsh Pea Lathyrus palustris and lots more.

Saturday 2nd July: North Denes, Great Yarmouth, Norfolk

Meet at 10.30. Park along North Drive. Toilets. Meet on dunes opposite entrance to Haven Seashore Holiday Park at TG 5316 1025. Buses from town centre to north end of North Drive

On the dunes: we will see sand and maritime plants. Grey Hair-grass Corynephorus canescens, Woolly Hawkweed Hieracium lanatum amongst others. The dunes have uneven ground with concealed holes.
