Meet at 10:30 in the car park near the Fort (there is a charge) at the end of Old Fort Road, BN43 5HB, Grid Ref. TQ232044. If you want to travel by train, the nearest station is Shoreham-by-Sea. Allow 30 minutes to walk from the station to the fort.

A meeting to look at the stabilised shingle plants found in this location. Plants we should see include Sea Kale Crambe maritima, Yellow Horned-poppy Glaucium flavum and Rough Clover Trifolium scabrum,. Also present will be many naturalised aliens such as, Silver Ragwort Jacobaea maritima, Japanese Rose Rosa rugosa and Tree-mallow Malva arborea. We hope to find Starry Clover Trifolium stellatum known here for 200 years!

Bring a packed lunch, waterproofs and stout footwear as most of the walk will be on shingle.
