Meet at 10.30 in the free public car park, CR3 5QS; Grid Ref: TQ316567; what3words: ///lame.dairy.hint, at the end of Fox Lane (through the height barrier). The 466 bus stops near the entrance to Fox Lane.

Happy Valley is a stunning area with large areas of flower rich chalk grassland plus ancient woodland and neutral grassland.  Much of the area has SSSI status and it is also part of the South London Downs National Nature Reserve. As well as the good views, we will see a wide range of chalk flora and some of the 8 orchid species found here, including Fly Orchid Ophrys insectifera and Man Orchid Orchis anthropophora, plus the nationally rare Greater Yellow-rattle Rhinanthus angustifolius.

There are some steep and uneven paths.
