Meet at 10:00 at the car park at the end of Wootton Drive. This is just off the A5013, Eccleshall Road, off Junction 14 on the M6, at ST16 1PU; what3words: ///voted.goods.advice.

The site itself is a flood plain of the River Sow which runs through it and has a number of lakes and drainage ditches plus marsh. That said there are some good solid footpaths. It actually works as a flood plain but is usually OK in summer – if it should happen to flood on our day then it is fine to get around in wellies. The most photogenic plant we will see is probably the Flowering Rush Butomus umbellatus. Other nice things will be Water Plantains Alisma spp..Bur Marigolds Bidens spp. and Buttonweed Cotula coronopifolia, plus, all of the more usual wetland plants. At that time of the year, it will be covered with Meadowsweet Filipendula ulmaria and Common Valerian Valeriana officinalis.
